How Life Is Better When You Wake Up Earlier

What time do you usually wake up in the morning? Actually let me rephrase that, how many hours before you actually need to start “work” do you wake up? If you are not giving yourself an hour or two of free time in the morning, then you are truly missing out! I am by far not a morning person! I never want to get out of bed, I like to give myself an extra 15-30 minutes of snooze time, and I feel tired and grumpy once I am finally up on my feet. I may be the wrong person to preach this but the days that I do wake up early and give myself a few hours of “free time” feel amazing!

Twitter Is For Building Relationships, Dummy

I want to start by saying that I do not mean to call you a dummy in a rude way, especially if you do use Twitter to build relationships. I have just come across so many individuals that do not take full advantage of Twitter and its magnificent powers. Twitter is a social media network, this is true, but each network has its own individual characteristics. You use LinkedIn differently than you would Facebook and the same goes for Twitter. If you are using Twitter as a channel to quickly respond to friends without the message being as public as it would on Facebook, then you are truly underestimating what Twitter is all about.

The Positive Impacts of Facebook’s Timeline Change

Last week Simply Measured put out a study on Facebook engagement rates pre and post Timeline and it is some fascinating stuff. After all the disapproval that the Timeline format received from Facebook users, it was was easy to assume that the brand page transformation would decrease engagements and conversations. It just made logical sense. Users were unhappy with the new format therefore they would be less inclined to interact with Timeline pages. The study seems to think differently…

Pinterest: The New Big Deal

In my post last week, I referred to Pinterest as the new hot topic and hinted that I should probably join in on all the fun and write my own post about the new social phenomenon. Well here it is!

First let’s dive into what Pinterest is, because although most of you have probably already heard of it or are currently addicted to it, there are many who are unaware of this new network. Pinterest is a virtual pinboard in which you can “pin” images and videos – it is basically a huge image sharing website! Users create boards related to specific topics and from there pin or repin content onto these related boards. It really is like having gigantic pinboards that you can use to display magazine cutouts.

Why In The World I Compare Bloggers to Rappers

Tupac and Eminem may just be the two greatest bloggers of all-time and you definitely do not want to let Kanye West into his zone because he will out blog you any day. Okay, maybe I am just blowing this topic out of proportion but there are still many important similarities between rappers and bloggers. Hint: It is not that they both have diamond encrusted grills in their mouths.

Automation Is Pathetic Yet We All Still Do It

How many of you use Buffer, HootSuite, or some other 3rd party solution to schedule your social media posts? I admit it, I am one of those people. I like to schedule my tweets to get the most out of them and also because I love all the data I get back from Buffer. It allows me to see which tweets are performing well and which ones are complete failures, plus it gives me the ability to spread my tweets out instead of bombarding all of my wonderful followers all at once. Automation now plays a key role in the fast-paced world of social media and I guarantee that many people, including all those social media experts, use tools to automate many of their tweets and posts.  Everyone that does this, including myself, is pathetic…simple as that.
